Margin guarded by default
Per-customer and per-lane markup rules apply automatically, along with the surcharge stack: BAF, THC, documentation fees, and custom charges as flat, per-container, per-kg, per-cbm, or percentage amounts. A margin guard flags or holds any quote that would fall below your floor, which matters most in a GRI week when buy rates move under you.
From quote to booking
Customers approve on a shareable quote link with no login required. Accepted quotes become bookings, push to CargoWise or Magaya, and flow into shipment tracking, so the quote you sent is the record everything else reconciles against.

How do freight forwarders calculate quotes?
Start with the buy rate for the lane and equipment, from a carrier contract or a spot rate. Add the surcharges that apply, such as BAF, THC, and documentation fees, then the markup for that customer and lane. Fretie runs that same calculation automatically from your loaded rates and margin rules.
How fast can Fretie produce a quote?
For a request that matches your loaded rates, the agent usually has a priced draft ready in seconds, before your team has opened the email. Requests it cannot match or fully parse get flagged for a human instead of guessed at.
Can I set different margins for different customers?
Yes. Margin rules are per-customer and per-lane, and surcharges can be flat, per-container, per-kg, per-cbm, or percentage-based. The agent applies them on every quote without anyone opening a spreadsheet.
What happens if a quote would go out below my margin floor?
The approval gate holds it. You pick the policy (approval never, only below the floor, or on every quote) and Fretie refuses to send anything unapproved.
How do customers accept a quote?
Every quote gets a shareable public link where the customer reviews the options and accepts, no account required. Acceptance turns the quote into a booking and pushes it to your TMS.
Does Fretie handle rail and road as well as ocean and air?
Yes. Rail is a first-class mode alongside ocean (FCL and LCL), air, and road, with the same rate matching, surcharge, and margin logic on all four.
